Poster #1: my lai massacre
"(March 16, 1968) Mass killing of as many as 500 unarmed
villagers by U.S. soldiers in the hamlet of My Lai during the
Vietnam War. A company of U.S. soldiers on a search-and-
destroy mission against the hamlet found no armed Viet Cong
there but nonetheless killed all the elderly men, women, and
children they could find; few villagers survived".

I created the image out of hand drawn type, and decided to
use white throughout the poster, causing the splattered blood
to be a powerful focal point on the design. The white ribbon
symbolized peace, innocence and right to life. But on March
16, 1968, blood covered the innocent villagers of My Lai.

Theme of design competition: I was asked to design a
poster based on a place and express it using just colours.
This poster is a colour representation of a busy Times
Square at night.
